Styles: Yin Style Baguazhang.

A native of Qingshan Village, Shandong Province, he studied his baguazhang from Yin Fu since childhood. Yin Fu was known among the top students of the founder of baguazhang, Dong Haichuan (1796-1880). Gong's fighting prowess earned him a place as a bodyguard within the Royal Palace and eventually chief of security in the mansion of Prince Su. Gong would be the third generation of bodyguard service in the Royal Palace, first being Dong Hai-Chuan and second being Yin Fu.

In 1934 he retired from the Royal Palace and began teaching baguazhang in his home village in Qing Shan. That's also the year Grandmaster Liu Yun-Qiao met him and became his disciple. Gong, despite being an opium addict, was an exceptional master, especially in light body skills and missile throwing skills. Although he was a powerful martial artists, he was known to be very humble and seldom competing with others. Because of this he is well respected by all, including the fearsome Li Su-Wen.

According to grandmaster Liu Yun-Qiao, Gong taught two systems of baguazhang: qinggong (light body) and ying gong (hard strength skill). Among the forms taught by Gong Bao Tien are the following: bagua liangyizhang (the eight-trigram two-pole palm form), sixing bazhang (four-animal and eight-palm form), yin zhang (hard palm form), baguaquan (eight-trigram fist form), baguatui (eight-trigram leg form), xiantien bazhang (pre-heaven eight palm form), liushisi zhang (64-palm form), lianhuan zhang (continuous palm form), zhuang zhou (rotating-elbow form), etc.
